The Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC) summarizes research, identifies health information needs, and develops information resources to support the Model Systems programs in meeting the needs of individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and burn injuries (Burn).
Involvement from the field plays a critical role in the success of the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC). Periodically, we recruit individuals with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and burn injury and their family members to participate in MSKTC activities.
The Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Model Systems are funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). They are called "model systems" because they are national leaders in SCI care and research. There are 14 SCI Model Systems Centers across the U.S. and one SCI Model Systems Data Center that directs the collection, management and analysis of a longitudinal national SCI database. Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Model Systems are funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). They are called "model systems" because they are national leaders in TBI care and research. There are 16 TBI Model Systems Centers across the U.S. and one TBI Model Systems Data Center that directs the collection, management and analysis of a longitudinal national TBI database.
