Co-Investigator- Spaulding- Harvard TBI Model System
Dr. Therese O’Neil-Pirozzi is the Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Program Director at Northeastern University. Dr. O'Neil-Pirozzi is highly interested in the integration of Speech Language Pathology theory and clinical practice with cognitive-communication and swallowing impaired individuals across the lifespan. Her research focuses are clinically motivated, for example: whether individuals with traumatic brain injury can improve their memory function; whether certain swallowing tests used with tracheostomized individuals reliably and validly measure what they are thought to measure; and whether parents, with and without literacy challenges of their own, can learn to facilitate their children’s literacy and/or social pragmatic development.
