Edelle Field-Fote, PT, PhD, FAPTA
Project Director- Southeastern Regional Spinal Cord Injury Model System
Dr. Field-Fote is Director, Spinal Cord Injury Research at Shepherd Center; Professor, Georgia Institute of Technology, School of Biological Sciences; and Professor, Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. Previously, she was the director of the Neuromotor Rehabilitation Research Laboratory at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. Her research has focused on spinal cord injury for over 20 years, beginning with studies in an animal model and subsequently applying this knowledge to people with SCI. She has clinical expertise as a neurologic physical therapist, with PhD and post-doctoral training in movement science and motor control physiology.
