Dr. Mark A. Hirsch obtained his PhD degree based on a thesis titled: "Activity-dependent enhancement of balance in Parkinson's disease" at Florida Sate University. 1996 to 1999 he received training as a neurorehabilitation scientist during an NIH fellowship in PM&R at Johns Hopkins. He received additional training in motor rehabilitation and movement disorders during an Associateship in Neurology, Dusseldorf University, German. Main research interests focus on motor coordination, with emphasis on Parkinson's disease, participatory medicine, political participation and TB, and improving allied healthcare in individuals with PD, including the implementation and evaluation of complex interventions.
