Abstract:
Study evaluates a peer consultation program for patients in a large burn unit. Three specially trained survivors of burn injuries made 167 visits to 108 current inpatients and their families, who in turn, completed evaluation forms for each visit. Results indicated that patients reported that the peer consultants approached them in an appropriate manner, answered their questions, and provided useful support and information.
