Article examines future directions for disability and rehabilitation research. Authors recommend that new research directions include life span issues, biomedicine, biotechnology, and the efficacy and effectiveness of current interventions. Discussion also emphasizes the need for greater interdisciplinary collaborations and consumer participation in research.
