Abstract:
Self-directed learning module describes the process of personal and environmental adaptation to help individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) reintegrate into the community. Models for understanding and designing interventions to meet individual physical, psychological, social, and economic needs are presented. Includes scenarios involving home modification, sports participation and options for recreational mobility, life care planning, infertility after SCI, and approaches to requests for withdrawal of life-sustaining care.
