Abstract:
Article describes how treating patients with a dual diagnosis of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and spinal cord injury (SCI) presents challenges to rehabilitation professionals. A case study illustrates the challenges presented by the cognitive impairments related to TBI in combination with the motor impairments associated with SCI. Management strategies utilized by rehabilitation providers are discussed.
