Abstract:
Article examines the state of the science in the field of spinal cord injury (SCI). Topics reviewed included clinical practice and interventions related to the acute management of SCI, treatment of medical consequences and complications, rehabilitation, community integration, psychosocial issues, employment, assistive technology, and aging. Article concludes with a summary of the current status of systems of care, rehabilitation services, and research and offers recommendations for future research.
