Abstract:
Article proposes a rationale and a multidisciplinary training model for the new field of rehabilitation informatics. Rehabilitation informatics links the clinical expertise of health service providers with the technical expertise of information scientists to build new and innovative information technology applications to meet the needs of people with neurological disabilities. As such, innovation in rehabilitation informatics requires new models of training that knowledge from the fields of neurorehabilitation, rehabilitation engineering, information science, computer engineering, and telecommunications.
