Abstract:
Seventy people with spinal cord injury (SCI) and 29 with traumatic brain injury (TBI) completed the Spanish version of the Community Integration Questionnaire (CIQ), a measure of community integration to test the psychometric properties of the instrument. Four sets of results are presented: (1) descriptive and internal consistency analyses, (2) validity assessment, (3) comparison between Spanish and English versions, and (4) test-retest comparisons. Internal consistency for the total score was only slightly lower than that found by the developers of the English version. Generally, the results are comparable to those produced with the English version of the CIQ, which is not as psychometrically sound as needed.
