Abstract:
Article examines the prevalence and impact of the problem of pain following spinal cord injury (SCI). It considers difficulties with classifying and assessing pain and discusses promising treatments. Author uses SCI pain as an example of opportunities for behavioral scientists and clinicians to collaborate with basic scientists to translate promising findings from animal research to interventions with humans.
