Abstract:
Text is designed to assist practitioners and students in rehabilitation professions in the care and treatment of people aging with a disability. Book is divided into 5 parts, addressing: (1) the perspective of the person with a disability and his or her family; (2) the physiological and functional changes people will face as they grow older, and how these changes may affect caregivers and quality of life; (3) treatment considerations such as maintaining employment and managing pain and fatigue; (4) specific conditions, including spinal cord injury, polio, cerebral palsy, and developmental disabilities; and (5) future directions for research and healthcare policy.
