Abstract:
Article describes the development of a telephone follow-up program that addresses the needs of individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and their families during the first year after injury. Eighty-four TBI survivors and their families participated in the program. Information regarding the number of contacts, areas of concern for participants, the types of interventions conducted, and results are presented. Case examples illustrate the impact of the program. The project demonstrated the feasibility of using the telephone as a means of providing information and support for people with TBI.
