The purpose is to identify predictors of employment 10 years after SCI, accounting for differences between return to preinjury employer and obtaining new employment. This represents two distinctive paths to employment, each with its own set of precursors. It is essential that rehabilitation and vocational professionals be able to identify as early as possible individuals that are good candidates to return to the preinjury employer and those that will require the lengthier and more costly route of additional training and education.
