This site-specific independent project will determine the efficacy of a comprehensive home-based program for prevention of shoulder pain after SCI. We will identify whether delivery of this prevention program using enhanced interaction with health care team members and peer mentors improves community reintegration and self-efficacy for engagement in exercise as well as
reducing rates of shoulder pain onset compared to the home-based program. Moreover, we will identify predictors of a positive response to the prevention programs, which will help to refine
our recommendations for evidence-based prevention and clinical practice guidelines.
